<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">He confirmed the reports of the operation in Buner and told it was started at 4:00 PM PST today.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">The Taliban moved to Buner on the 3rd of this month and took the control of the area and after the warnings from the government they did not withdraw; as a result Pakistan army launched the operation, on the request of the provincial government of north western Pakistan.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Moreover, the operation against the Taliban insurgents in lower Dir came to an end successfully and the army has cleared the areas now, he said.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Eventually, the insurgent groups in Afghanistan get the funds through the poppy money and last year there was a record production of Poppy in Afghanistan, according to international reports.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">The Pak PM’s message came as a response to the U.S and the West, who always try to dictate the Pakistani administration to do more against the Taliban insurgents in the tribal areas and Swat valley of North Western Pakistan.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Although when we look at the U.S led war on terror that has entered in its 8th year in the hunt of Bin Ladan, Al-Qaeda and Taliban in Afghanistan, their position is very miserable.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">They have not able to capture Bin Ladan who is still at large, nor there seems any progress in war on terror even though more and more troops are being poured into Afghanistan but that resulted in shape of a record high poppy production and the increasing resistance from the Taliban insurgents.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Moreover, the war that was dragged inside Pakistan by the former military dictator Pervaiz Musharraf has entered a new phase, from the tribal belt to settled areas of Swat valley and Buner district where the Pakistani security forces are battling with the Taliban insurgents for that last 3 days, however, Pakistan army has taken control of most of the area in Buner and the Taliban are withdrawing now, according to ISPR briefing.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">The Director General, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Athar Abbas said the Buner operation may take a week to complete.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">In the war on terror, Pakistan has suffered greater damage despite having the poor economy and increasing challenges of extremism inside the country and the arms and funds from Afghanistan into Pakistan to the Taliban insurgents, moreover the U.S drone attacks across the border on the tribal areas of Pakistan.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Pakistan has rendered more sacrifices than any other country in the U.S led coalition whether military or civilian casualties that were caused by the Taliban insurgents, and that day is not very far when the Pakistanis will say it is enough because despite having the military might and sophisticated weapons the U.S and NATO forces could not control the poppy cultivation and the drug money that is compounding the Pakistan with more challenges, they do not have the right to say, DO MORE.</span></p>

<p>DUBAI: Because of the uncertain  security situation in Pakistan, the ICC (International Cricket Council) decided that Pakistan will not host the World Cup Cricket Matches of 2011.</p>
<p>The decision came here on Friday and Pakistan were due to co-host the event with India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.</p>
<p>So the World Cup Secretariat will now be shifted from Lahore and the World Cup matches will not be hosted by the India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.</p>
<p>David Morgan ICC President termed it a regrettable decision but it was taken due to deteriorating security situation in Pakistan.</p>
<p>It is our aim to provide a secure, safe and successful event and we have to keep in mind the security concerns in Pakistan.</p>
<p>It is also to ensure the security of the cricket players and I am unhappy to take this decision, he also said.</p>
<p>On the first day of ICC’s Executive Board’s meeting, Australia and New Zealand firmly apposed Pakistan’s co-hosting of the matches of World Cup 2011.</p>
<p>In the meeting the report of the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team was also discussed by the members.</p>
<p>A former Pakistani cricketer severely criticized the ICC’s decision of shifting the world cup matches from Pakistan.</p>
<p>He said that ICC has slapped the face of country’s cricket, the security situation in India and Sri Lanka is also bad but why Pakistan?</p>
<p>The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) should raise its voice against the ICC’s decision, he added.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">As a matter of fact, the methods that were used while interrogation include keeping detainees naked for long periods, keeping them in standing positions for long periods, depriving them of solid food, some other tactics likewise using a plastic neck collar to slam the detainees into walls, beating and kicking the detainees, sleep-deprivation,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>and threats to a detainee’s family were also used.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">The Newsweek magazine revealed some more shocking news about Bush’ system of kidnapping, secret prisons and torture.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">A secret Red Cross report reveals that many kidnapped and tortured people were turned into “disappeared persons”, by the CIA under instructions from Bush and Chenny.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">A former Bush administration official told Newsweek’s Michael Isikoff that the information had been hidden from the Red Cross.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">The majority of the in the CIA program are unaccounted for, we don’t know what happened to them, A human rights investigator told the magazine.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Like Bush the former Chilean dictator August Pinochet, in the trance of his power committed kidnappings, tortures and assassinations of the innocent people and the victims became known as the “disappeared.”</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">But the things changed with the time and the Spanish courts brought indictments against Pinochet and then he was stranded under house arrest in England.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">When arrest warrants are issued, 24 countries in Europe are obligated to enforce them; as a matter of fact the world is getting smaller for the torture conspirators.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Former U.S. Attorney General, Ramsey Clark has called for the prosecution of Bush and other high officials in the United States, “The greatest danger arising from impunity for President Bush and his cohorts would be that all subsequent officials will feel secure in committing the same crimes and the people having failed to compel impeachment for such open and notorious crimes, will feel even more helpless to prevent them.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Eventually, the power and the responsibility to prevent criminal acts by government is with the people.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
