Peshawar, Pakistan: The Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said the government has enforced NAR-2009, Nizam-e-Adl Regulation 2009, in order to bring peace in Swat and stop the bloodshed.

Talking to journalists in Peshawar he said now there is no logic of armed struggle, the Taliban should lay down their arms and stand by the government in its peace initiatives.

The government has established the Darul Qaza and the appointment of Qazis (judges) in Malakand division but it is strictly committed to establish its writ and any violation of the agreement will not be tolerated.

The provincial Government is coping with the militancy with its full might and there has not been any financial support from the centre so far.

Amir Izaat Khan, the Taliban spokesperson from Swat chapter, said the establishment of Daul Qaza in Malakand division is a unilateral decision of the provincial government of North Western Pakistan and they were not taken into confidence.

Islamabad, Pakistan: The Pakistani President said that according to the reports of Pakistani agencies, Osama Bin Ladan is no more alive, he was speaking on a private news channel here in Pakistan today.

Buner, Swat valley: The Pakistani security forces have launched a major operation against the Taliban insurgents in Buner district of Swat valley, in North Western Pakistan.

The troops of Frontier Core and Pakistan army are taking part in the offensive against the Taliban insurgents and they are being supported by gunship helicopters and jet fighters, according to media reports.

The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Athar Abbas, was speaking to the media here today.

He confirmed the reports of the operation in Buner and told it was started at 4:00 PM PST today.

The Taliban moved to Buner on the 3^rd of this month and took the control of the area and after the warnings from the government they did not withdraw; as a result Pakistan army launched the operation, on the request of the provincial government of north western Pakistan.

Moreover, the operation against the Taliban insurgents in lower Dir came to an end successfully and the army has cleared the areas now, he said.

Some 75 militants were killed and 10 troops from Pakistan army were martyred in the operation, he added.

There are the reports of the presence of some 400 Taliban militants in Buner and Pakistan army is fully capable of coping with them, he said.

There is evidence of Taliban getting funds, arms, and communication apparatus from Afghanistan, according to media reports.

Eventually, the insurgent groups in Afghanistan get the funds through the poppy money and last year there was a record production of Poppy in Afghanistan, according to international reports.

The Pak PM’s message came as a response to the U.S and the West, who always try to dictate the Pakistani administration to do more against the Taliban insurgents in the tribal areas and Swat valley of North Western Pakistan.

Although when we look at the U.S led war on terror that has entered in its 8^th year in the hunt of Bin Ladan, Al-Qaeda and Taliban in Afghanistan, their position is very miserable.

They have not able to capture Bin Ladan who is still at large, nor there seems any progress in war on terror even though more and more troops are being poured into Afghanistan but that resulted in shape of a record high poppy production and the increasing resistance from the Taliban insurgents.

Moreover, the war that was dragged inside Pakistan by the former military dictator Pervaiz Musharraf has entered a new phase, from the tribal belt to settled areas of Swat valley and Buner district where the Pakistani security forces are battling with the Taliban insurgents for that last 3 days, however, Pakistan army has taken control of most of the area in Buner and the Taliban are withdrawing now, according to ISPR briefing.

In the war on terror, Pakistan has suffered greater damage despite having the poor economy and increasing challenges of extremism inside the country and the arms and funds from Afghanistan into Pakistan to the Taliban insurgents, moreover the U.S drone attacks across the border on the tribal areas of Pakistan.

Pakistan has rendered more sacrifices than any other country in the U.S led coalition whether military or civilian casualties that were caused by the Taliban insurgents, and that day is not very far when the Pakistanis will say it is enough because despite having the military might and sophisticated weapons the U.S and NATO forces could not control the poppy cultivation and the drug money that is compounding the Pakistan with more challenges, they do not have the right to say, DO MORE.

After the successful negotiations between the Taliban insurgents and the administration the Taliban agreed to withdraw from Buner district of Swat.

A group of Taliban lead by the chief of Tehrik-e-Nifazi-e-Sharia Muhammadia, Mualana Sufi Muhammad arraived in Swat today, according to media reports.

There was an all parties conference  in the provincial capital of north western Pakistan, Peshawar, where the proper implementation of Nizam-e-Adl regulation came under discussion.

The United States and The West have expressed grave concerns over passing the regulation of Nizam-e-Adl by the Pakistan’s parliament and Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari.

The provincial information minister has given a briefing to the representatives of the media and said that Nizam-e-Adl regulation is enforced in Swat valley and the Qazis of the courts (judges) will be appointed by the government.

It is only aimed at to stop the bloodshed in Swat valley and to achieve peace in the war-torn Swat valley.

A religious political party “Jamat-e-Islami” took out a rally against the drone attacks in the city of Peshawar.

The speakers Siarj-ul-Haq, ex-parliamentarian and the provincial head of the party severely criticized the Pakistani government that failed to prevent the tribal areas from the attacks of US drones.

The other speakers urged the Obama administration to respect the sovereignty of Pakistan and top the drone attacks that are causing civilian casualties in tribal areas.

DUBAI: Because of the uncertain  security situation in Pakistan, the ICC (International Cricket Council) decided that Pakistan will not host the World Cup Cricket Matches of 2011.

The decision came here on Friday and Pakistan were due to co-host the event with India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

So the World Cup Secretariat will now be shifted from Lahore and the World Cup matches will not be hosted by the India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

He said that ICC has slapped the face of country’s cricket, the security situation in India and Sri Lanka is also bad but why Pakistan?

Islamabad, Pakistan: The former radical cleric of Red Mosque, Maulana Abdul Aziz was released from Adiala Jail Rawalpindi today.

He was warmly welcomed by his disciples and large crowd of people at his release from the prison.

He was released after two years when he was captured during the bloody siege of Red mosque in July 2007, when some 100 people were killed in the operation.

Pakistan’s Supreme court granted him bail on a surety bond worth 200, 000 (2, 500 US Dollars).

Maulana Abdul Aziz was arrested during the red mosque operation by Pakistani security forces in July 2007.

After the release, Maulana Abdul Aziz went to red mosque and he will deliver the Friday sermon tomorrow, according to sources.

While speaking to media he said that a brutal operation was launched against them in 2007, by the former dictator Pervaiz Musharraf, while his younger brother Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi was also killed in that operation.

Our struggle was to enforce Islam across the country and our efforts will continue, he added.

The Police have been removed from his residence and now he is a free man, according to media reports.

He also said the suicide attacks against Pakistani forces are unlawful and unjustified and they should be against the infidels.

Washington: The Obama administration informed CIA officials who used waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics on terror suspects that they will not be prosecuted, according to sources.

Eventually, CIA has acknowledged using waterboarding, a form of simulated drowning, on the detainees in 2002 and 2003, with the permission of the White House and the Justice Department.

Some Human Rights groups have urged The US President Barack Obama to hold the CIA employees accountable for the torture, though Former CIA director Michael Hayden said, waterboarding was not used.

As a matter of fact, the methods that were used while interrogation include keeping detainees naked for long periods, keeping them in standing positions for long periods, depriving them of solid food, some other tactics likewise using a plastic neck collar to slam the detainees into walls, beating and kicking the detainees, sleep-deprivation,  and threats to a detainee’s family were also used.

Many of these methods were detailed in a secret 2007 report by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

On the other hand, The U.S. President Barack Obama has ordered the CIA’s secret overseas prisons known as “black sites” closed.
