Israel: Collective psychosis

Just in case the world has forgotten the recent barbaric attacks by Israel  on the unarmed population of Gaza, that killed over 1400,  the daily Haaretz from Israel has luckily published a story of  how members of Israeli ‘Defence’ forces use perverse and sick slogans on their T-shirts and personal items — have got to make many to question  the mental health of these ’soldiers’.

Some examples:

The Lavi battalion produced a shirt featuring a drawing of a soldier next to a young woman with bruises, and the slogan, “Bet you got raped!”

Another reads “Let every Arab mother know that her son’s fate is in my hands!”

Dead babies, mothers weeping on their children’s graves, a gun aimed at a child and bombed-out mosques - are some images apparently these sick men and women like to print on their T-shirts, baseball caps, fleece jackets and pants.

Equally bizarre:  Former  IDF’s chief psychologist, Col. (res.) Ron Levy thinks this is “normal”.

An excerpt of his interview:

Levy: “I’m familiar with things of this sort going back 40, 50 years, and each time they take a different form. Psychologically speaking, this is one of the ways in which soldiers project their anger, frustration and violence. It is a certain expression of things, which I call ‘below the belt.’”

Question: Do you think this a good way to vent anger?

Levy: “It’s safe. But there are also things here that deviate from the norm, and you could say that whoever is creating these things has reached some level of normality. He gives expression to the fact that what is considered abnormal today might no longer be so tomorrow.”

Someone named Jim Klein from San Francisco comments on the Haaretz piece:

“This is a disgusting development. Dear Israel: Stories like this are why the whole world is slowly turning against you. You’ve allowed yourself to become a permanent military state. You couldn’t pay me to live there. How about you start a space program and go colonize the moon or something? Clearly you don’t play well with others here on Earth.”

Well said, my friend.

  1. The Israeli Jews have psyched themselves into believing they are the only human beings of value in the Middle East, and entitled to the land because they can make better use of it than their arab neighbors. Israeli Jews want palestinian land and Palestinians refuse to give up their land. Therefore, Israeli Jews are murdering Palestinians for their land and justifying their crime by dehumanizing Palestinians and rationalizing that Palestinians are terrorists plotting to kill Jews. Many Israeli Jews follow Zionism, an ideology that is racist with a stated objective of enlarging Israel’s border boundaries. Zionism is very similar to nazism, and helps to explain Israel’s racist and terrorist policies and tactics used to control the Palestinians.

Sadly, Israeli Jews believe they are above the law and can do whatever they like without facing consequences. This attitude has been reinforced by the failure of the US and UN to take action against Israel for its atrocities and war crimes on the Palestinians, while punishing other countries for the same offenses. Moreover, the US supplys the money, weapons, and intelligence that are used to support Israel’s brutal occupation of the Palestinians. The US also provides cover for Israel’s lies and vetoes all condemnation and punitive action against Israel in the UN.

The US is harming Israel by supporting its wrongdoing. Eventually, the Arabs, Iranians, and Palestinians will turn on Israel and there will be nothing the US can do to stop WW3, which will ensue.

  2. Perhaps Palestinians should stop lobbing rockets at Israel every other day. That would be a good first step towards peace.

  3. I think it shall be a good step if the Israeli troops stop killing unarmed Palestinian people. These two states are no match regarding military power. When some one knows that he can not stand in front of another power but the other is constantly torturing him, he is compelled to rise against it. Who is the accused here? Of course the more powerful group.
I am not telling that, what the Palestinians are doing is right, but the cease fire and other steps towards peace should be taken from the more powerful side.
